Hosting a Henna Party or Event:

Planning Guide

The most common question I get from party planners is

"How many guests can you do in an hour?"

To answer this and to help you plan your party,

first choose one of the following options:

Henna Free for Guests

This option best suits parties where henna is considered an activity or party favor. For example: Birthdays, corporate events, family reunions, weddings or showers.

I happily apply henna to ages 5+

I recommend ages 7+

Things to Keep in Mind:

  • When you host a party where guests receive their henna for free, you pay an hourly rate. It is unlimited henna application!

  • I can henna more guests because I'm not stopping to take or process payments.

  • Children and teen party guests tend to get in line and choose their designs more quickly. Therefore, I can do more designs per hour.

  • Adult guests tend to take their time choosing a design and also enjoy the social aspect of the party. Therefore, I tend do fewer adult per hour than kids.

  • Hosts can choose OPTIONS to suit their occasion.

If guests are forming a fairly steady line, this is the average number I can do per hour:

20-30 small designs

10-15 medium designs

4-8 medium-large designs

2-3 more detailed/intricate medium-large designs

Henna Available for Guests to Purchase

This is often a good arrangement for Salon or Studio Events, Ladies Parties, or Open-Houses.

Things to Keep in Mind:

  • Adult parties have a fun and relaxing social element, so guests often take their time choosing a design.

  • At this type of event, the artist usually spends more time with each guest.

  • Guests are more interested in learning about aftercare which is often applied by the artist.

  • Some time is used by the artist to keep the ledger and take payments.

  • Hosts can choose OPTIONS to suit their occasion.

  • PLEASE NOTE: The income received from guests covers the artist's hourly rate. In the case that the rate is not met, the host may be responsible for the difference.

How many guests should I invite?

How many clients should I schedule per hour?

How many hours should I book for henna based on the number of guests I am expecting?

For occasions where the henna is available for purchase, I suggest the following guideline:

$15 designs = 6-8 guests/hour ($90-120)

$20 designs = 5-6 guests/hour ($100-120)

$25 designs = 4-5 guests/hour ($100-125)

$30 designs = 3-4 guests/hour ($90-120)

$40 designs = 2 guests/hour ($80)

ANY mix of the above as long as it = approx.$100/hr

Options

We can discuss the following options to best suit your guests, length, and vision of the occasion:

  • Unlimited design size, OR limited number of designs and sizes. For example, for some large groups I bring the quickest and most popular designs.

  • Limit application to hands, OR allow application on feet, arms, or shoulders.

  • Glitter application or no glitter.

  • I can take the time to make sure everyone's sealant is properly applied, OR, as a time saver, guests can be given take-away packets of sealant to apply themselves.
